Abstract

It is of utmost importance to recognize that the teaching material in the training field, “Knowledge and mathematical thinking”, favors the effective learning process in students, thanks to the practical-playful contact with real elements that activates the pleasure of learning, stimulates development. memory and enhances children’s mathematical skills. At the same time, it develops the main cognitive skills that must be developed in students such as attention, memory, concentration, and problem solving; where they begin to understand how mathematical ideas develop from others, use mathematical language, represent ideas and solutions, transmit information, use didactic material and work collaboratively. Therefore, these reflections are intended for teachers to consider the effective use of teaching materials in the teaching and learning processes, in order to strengthen and complement the learning of mathematics in the curriculum of the New Mexican School.
