Effects of Artificial Intelligence and digitalization on the epistemological training of contemporary jurists

Artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization play a fundamental role in the training of contemporary jurists. The objective of this research is to determine the effects of these emerging technologies in the training of contemporary jurists, and how they are transforming both access to legal information and the processes of interpretation and application of Law. The research approach is mixed, combining quantitative and qualitative methods. An exploratory-descriptive design is adopted, which will allow exhaustive investigation of the effects of emerging technologies on legal epistemology. Those with the most experience (50%) have less than 1 year, being students. The frequency of use of technological or digital tools shows that 70% of those surveyed use technological tools frequently or always. Among the technological tools used in legal training, they indicated that 80% use digital repositories of laws and jurisprudence. The majority of respondents perceive that AI is useful for legal training. Perceived usefulness may depend on the level of familiarity with AI and access to these tools in educational programs. In the process of investigating the future trajectories that are likely to shape the current evolution of legal epistemology during the training of jurists, the urgent need for innovative and interdisciplinary methodologies has been prominently identified as crucial to address and resolve. effectively address these pressing challenges.
