The training of students in the Law career by professors with vast experience is key for future professional development. The study aims to describe the impact of the collaborative participation of researchers in the training of research students in Law. The research was based on a mixed approach with an inductive model of non-experimental research for the main methods and techniques used: documentary analysis, observation, survey and interview. The largest number of students (40%) reflected on the need to address in their training the creation of a research profile that allows them to develop skills for their future professional development. They recognize the importance of having systematic and coherent training at each level, there is a greater number of students, 60%, who feel dissatisfied with the skills developed for research. The rest of the questions in the questionnaire reflected the students' recognition of the need to have constant guidance and review of their versions of investigative reports by the tutors, which reaffirms their emotional intelligence and, in addition, requires that their tutors have training constantly on advances in science to be able to give them truly significant support in research. Tutoring in the academic field allows law students to be prepared to face professional challenges with greater confidence and competence.
