Impacto de las metodologías activas en la adquisición de competencias de estudiantes universitarios

The objective of the study was to determine the impact of active methodologies on the acquisition of competencies by university students. The study had a quantitative, applied approach and a pre-experimental design. The population was the students of Education of a private university in Huancayo, Peru. The sample was 262 students from the seventh and eighth cycles, corresponding to four courses, who were taught the subjects Didactics of Social Sciences in Primary Education and Didactics of Mathematics in Primary Education, through the active methodologies Project-Based Learning, Case Study, Expert Model, Shared Study and Directed Study. For data collection, the General Competences Assessment Questionnaire was used to analyze the instrumental, systemic and personal competencies, and it was applied after each active methodology was implemented. The results revealed that the data associated with all the active methodologies follow a normal distribution. In all the methodologies, the competencies showed high means and relatively low deviations. The Project-Based Learning model showed a greater impact on competencies, while instrumental and systemic competencies obtained higher values compared to personal competencies. In conclusion, the most effective methodology for developing competencies in students is Problem-Based Learning.
