Abstract

The rapid pace of technological advancements, changes in patient demands, and increasing expectations for high-quality healthcare present numerous challenges and perspectives in the training of health professionals for today's society. This article analyzes the challenges and opportunities that arise in current medical education. The integration of technologies such as telemedicine and artificial intelligence into the curriculum is highlighted as a challenge that requires continuous updating of programs and significant investment. However, the importance of not neglecting the development of interpersonal and communication skills is emphasized. Likewise, the text emphasizes a more humanistic approach to medical training, where empathy and patient-centered medicine should be fundamental pillars, balancing medical science with ethical values. Globalization also presents challenges and opportunities, requiring that professionals be prepared to work in multicultural environments, which implies ensuring equivalent global training standards.
