Nutritional education for fifth grade students in the Natural Sciences subject
Keywords:
Nutritional education, Natural Sciences curriculum, educational alternativesAbstract
The right of people to healthy and safe food rests on nutritional education strategies carried out by educational institutions. The reflection on this topic warns of a certain disruption in practices, because it has not been possible to involve all the actors in this process and it is necessary to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the curriculum for this purpose. The study of educational practice led to the formulation of the research problem: How to contribute to the nutritional education of fifth grade students at the Intercultural Bilingual Community Education Center, Coronel Jacinto Bejarano in the subject of Natural Sciences? The general objective was to propose educational alternatives for the nutritional education of fifth grade students at the Intercultural Bilingual Community Education Center, Coronel Jacinto Bejarano in the subject of Natural Sciences. From a qualitative approach, the research allowed to systematize the theories and practices that have been developed over the last 10 years in Latin America and to form a reference framework to explore reality and facilitate the understanding of the subject being studied, to develop the proposal and confirm its practical validity. The research confirms the value of promoting alternatives for nutritional education that, even when they are oriented from the Natural Sciences class, have an extracurricular educational approach, the teacher becomes a promoter of nutritional education, by creating opportunities to involve parents and the community in this type of project.
