Current Successes and Challenges for the Internationalization of Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Programs in a Faculty

Abstract

The search for alternatives for the internationalization of undergraduate and graduate academic programs in universities strengthens multilateral relations, while enabling the socialization of knowledge, best practices and ways of improvement. In current times, international inter-institutional relations demand that training programs turn universities into global institutions of knowledge. In this sense, a process of change must be generated that implies that the student's experience responds to the changes occurring in the world in general. Internationalization has also become an important feature of universities, stimulated by the generation of income from international students, reputation and prestige, as well as to address the need for graduates to acquire the competencies that will enable them to compete in an increasingly global workplace. Thus, the objective of this paper is to delve into the successes and challenges that remain at the faculty level to internationalize the curriculum and its undergraduate and graduate programs.
