The Health and Occupational Security in Educational Institutions. Some reflections

The academic leader in Higher Technical Institutes, that belong to Higher Education, during the exercise of his functions, generally has accumulated experience in the teaching performance. However, in the trajectory in these institutions they make career as leaders, what justifies the importance of professional development in different dimensions according to the functions they carry out in the institution. In the consulted bibliography it is not frequently found an approach to the need and importance of this professional development, as well as the edges of the knowledge that they should master for the exercise of their university functions in this dimension. The present paper approaches some reflections about the health and occupational security in Institutions of Higher Education, its particularities and its evolution, as well as the mastery of these contents that the leaders should have. It also constitutes a necessary premise for high quality and relevance institution leading, as well as to design strategies of leaders´ professional training that contributes to the improvement of the formative, investigative, extensionist and management processes, that they should drive according to the contemporary demands from the society to the university. The carried-out investigation facilitated to systematize the existent bibliography mainly in the latest years and its evolution, regarding security and occupational health for decision taking, its conceptualization like a theoretical premise for the designing of a right institutional culture, in correspondence with the current social demands to Higher Education
