This study investigated the impact of a teaching strategy based on the ChatGPT to enhance the language skills of students in the Language and Literature area of a Technical Baccalaureate program at the “José María Velasco Ibarra” Educational Unit. The study revealed a low level of proficiency in skills such as written expression and reading comprehension among students, and an empirical and unstructured use of Artificial Intelligence by teachers. The research adopted a mixed-methods approach and a pre-test/post-test experimental design. Its objective was to develop and validate a teaching strategy that integrated planned and pedagogically sound Artificial Intelligence. After implementing the strategy, the post-test results showed that the level of knowledge and use of ChatGPT increased considerably, and students improved their writing and reading comprehension skills. Additionally, academic performance, motivation, autonomy, and critical thinking improved. These compelling reasons led to the proposal being validated as Excellent by 100% of the specialists, demonstrating that ChatGPT is an effective tool of Artificial Intelligence for developing students' linguistic, cognitive, and social skills.
